Alternative Refrigerants and Energy Saving -
Bock at China Refrigeration 2009
Bock Compressors presented the tried and tested solutions
to these challenges at China Refrigeration from 5th to 7th April.
China
is one of the most important market areas for refrigeration and air conditioning
technology. One of the attractive areas to foreign suppliers of air conditioning
technology is that of construction projects, where complex technology is used
and a great deal of planning is required.
The key exhibition for this
market is China Refrigeration. It is acknowledged worldwide as the leading
exhibition in the sector. This year the event was held in the exhibition halls
at the CECF Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou, where it attracted over 850 exhibitors
and around 40,000 visitors over an exhibition area of approximately 60,000m².
Refrigeration plants are an energy-intensive area of investment which
supermarket operators are taking more interest in. The goal here is not just to
lower energy costs and thus the CO2 emissions of the supermarkets, but also to
convert existing equipment to operate with environmentally friendly refrigerants
in the next few years.
This trend was also reflected at the Bock
exhibition stand. Bock Key Account Manager, Thomas Glasbrenner, reported "We
raised a lot of interest, in particular with our products that use CO2 as a
refrigerant. We also informed the many visitors of our special ATEX compressors
that are used in explosive environments as well operations using hydrocarbons as
a refrigerant."
Bock also showcased its semi-hermetic compressor with
EFC system at China Refrigeration. A plug & play solution for the
needs-based rotational speed control of refrigeration compressors using a
frequency converter. Bock first started to offer this extremely efficient system
at the end of last year for all semi-hermetic models. The EFC system enables a
25% greater energy saving potential for the compressor.
The next China
Refrigeration will be held on 7th - 9th April 2010 in Peking.
