Bock CO2 Workshops –
The training concept with future potential
With an innovative training concept and the cooperation partners
Danfoss and Knudsen Køling, Bock offers practice-oriented workshops around CO
systems.
Environmental awareness has spread across business segments and has grown in
importance on various markets. Even in many fields of the refrigeration and
air-conditioning industry, natural refrigerants and especially CO2 have won
recognition.
For this reason Bock now offers special workshops together with the
cooperation partners Danfoss and Knudsen Køling, where interested professionals
can gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience around
CO2 systems.
Bock already offers practical workshops around the compressor since 2007 in
the company's training centre that is located at the Bock headquarter. Up to
1000 experts and students come to Frickenhausen, Germany every year to expand
their electro-technical and mechanical skills and to get hands-on technological
experience.
Because of the growing interest in CO2 and the resulting demand for
qualified personal, Bock decided to offer special workshops that include all
aspects of CO2 systems. A fully functional supermarket Booster-system was built
for the workshops and was equipped with the newest control system, refrigerating
units for cooling and freezing as well as trans- and subcritical compressors. By
cooperating with Danfoss and Knudsen Køling, the combined experience of all
three companies could be used when building the CO2 system and is also
reflected in the diverse content of the workshop.
The fact that CO2 is one of the natural refrigerants with a lot of
potential for the future and already often used in Europe is due to different
reasons. CO2 is not only an environmentally-friendly refrigerant for
supermarkets. Also in security matters it is superior to other solutions.
Additionally, Europe has a relatively high number of trained professionals and
the moderate climate creates optimal conditions for CO2 .
But natural refrigerants are not only of interest in Europe - they are in the
centre of attention of experts around the world. They were one of the main
topics at this year's Mostra Convegno and Chillventa and were also discussed at
the Gustav Lorentzen Conference and the ARBS in Sydney, Australia.
Already in 2006 Bock presented its various compressor solutions for the
stationary use with CO2 at the IKK and could gain at lot of experience with
CO2 systems in the last few years. Also the cooperation partners Knudsen Køling
and Danfoss can rely on many years of experience and therefore contribute to the
success of the workshops.
The main focus of the training is on the compressor, but since there is a
demand for information concerning other areas involved with CO2 as well,
all important topics around CO2 systems are covered.
The feedback at the first workshops has clearly shown that the topic
CO2 is of interest, but also that the information needs is still very high.
Especially the uncertainty with the handling of CO2 makes practical
hands-on experience so important. Most of the questions of the attendants of the
first workshop were specifically about the handling of CO2, differences to
traditional refrigerants, the installation and the components with different
pressures.
The conclusion of Bock Product Manager CO2 Manuel Fröschle after the
first successful workshop: “when we look at the participants of the training we
can see that there is a need for information, especially in the field of CO2 and
that we made the right decision in offering those workshops.”
