From August 21 – 26.2011 experts from around the world are meeting again
and gather to Prague where the 23rd International Congress of Refrigeration
takes place.
The congress, held once every 4 years in a different city, is organized by
the International Institute of Refrigeration and one of the most important
events in the field of air-conditioning and refrigeration. The last ICR
conference that took place in Beijing in 2007 had 1308 visitors from 55
countries and presented 876 submitted academic papers.
The ICR conference targets both the industrial and academic stakeholders and
is able to address all important topics of the area refrigeration and
air-conditioning due to its broad thematic field.
Since the congress is held just once every 4 years, it always presents major
scientific results, key developments and industrial trends.
The International Institute of Refrigeration that consists of 61 member
states around the world dedicates this years’ congress to the topic
“Refrigeration for a sustainable development” and thus highlights a subject that
is growing in importance.
On 6 days the participants have the chance to attend thematic lectures,
workshops, seminars and technical tours and to exchange information and
knowledge with other attendants and visitors.
Also GEA Bock will be part of this important leading industry event and
presents a lecture on natural refrigerants. Mr. Manuel Fröschle, Project
Engineer at GEA Bock will hold a technical lecture about the development of a
transcritical CO2 compressor for medium to large capacities. The demands for
high efficiency and sustainability, especially for the high pressures of CO2
(R744), were systematically implemented during the whole development process of
the compressor.
