Industrial Mechanic

Prerequisites:

• School-leaving certificate (GCSE equivalent)
• A talent for craft
• Instinctive feel
• Enjoyment of precision work
• Interest in function and movement

Duration of training

Training normally lasts 3½ years. If performance is exceptionally good during training, the examination can be brought forward.

Training programme

You will be trained at our works, at the GARP technology centre and in the technical college. You will acquire the following skills and knowledge:

• Planning and managing work routines, monitoring and assessing the results
• Assembling and dismantling machines and systems
• Checking and adjusting functions
• Commissioning machines and systems
• Detecting, limiting and rectifying errors and faults
