Bock at the Gustav Lorentzen Conference 2010
Natural refrigerants – real alternatives. This is the motto of this year's
Gustav Lorentzen Conference in Sydney, Australia. The International Institute of
Refrigeration (IIR) and the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air
Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) invite the worlds leading experts to the most
important event in the field of natural refrigerants.
For the first time since its establishment in 1994, the Gustav Lorentzen
Conference will be held in the southern hemisphere, following previous
successful events in different European countries as well as in the US. The
conference brings together the world's leading professionals of this industry to
discuss the latest findings in research and development in the field of natural
refrigerants.
For the field of refrigerating compressors, Mr. Manuel Fröschle, product
manager for CO2 applications at Bock, will present latest developments in
compressors and refrigeration systems using the refrigerant R744 (CO2).
Bock is involved in the development of the refrigerant CO2 (R744) since the
early 1990's. The fact that CO2 does not have the potential for ozone depletion
and therefore has little influence on the greenhouse-effect, made CO2 an
attractive alternative to conventional refrigerants in the last years.
Especially when building refrigerating plants for supermarkets, plant operators
often decide in favour of the application of CO2. Bock has different series for
the application of the refrigerant CO2, both for transcritical use up to a
pressure of 130 bar and subcritical cascade systems for pressures up to 40
bar.
