Responsible refrigeration technology at the Chillventa
Under the slogan “responsible refrigeration“ Bock presents at the
Chillventa 2010 compressor solutions for environmentally friendly refrigeration-
and air-conditioning systems.
One of the biggest challenges of our time is to counteract climate change. In
particular, the emission of carbon dioxide CO2 and other climate-changing
greenhouse-gases has to be reduced.
An important role plays refrigeration- and air-conditioning technology. The
technical production of refrigeration in Germany adds up to about 14% of the
total energy consumption. An impressive number that makes clear that the
refrigeration- and air-conditioning technology might be one of the biggest
energy consumers, but also has a big energy-saving potential.
Therefore it is obvious that especially in the refrigeration- and
air-conditioning industry there is a lot of discussion about future technologies
to find possible saving potential.
From 13.-15 October, Bock presents at the Chillventa 2010 in Nuremberg its
current solutions for economic and environmentally friendly refrigeration- and
air-conditioning systems.

The natural solution CO2
In the last few years, the refrigerant CO2 was established in various
applications, such as parts of the supermarket sector. A development that will
even gain momentum in the next years. With ten years of experience as a pioneer
of this technology, Bock presents for the first time at the Chillventa the new
4-cylinder compressor models HG34 CO2T for the use in transcritical CO2
applications.
Full commitment for highest efficiency
When it comes to the topic of efficiency good is not good. Therefore Bock
works continuously on the development of our current compressors.
The
result – compressors especially optimised for the use with 134a. Those
compressors optimised for the specific characteristics of R134a achieve a higher
efficiency and therefore increase the annual capacity of the refrigeration
plant. As the first compressors in R134a version, Bock presents at the
Chillventa 2010 models of the type HG5…R134a.
With the Bock e-series the company also presents a further development in
terms of efficiency optimisation. The new generation of semi-hermetic
compressors is optimized for all standard refigerants.
As a first model of this series, Bock presents at the Chillventa compressors
of the type HG34.
Awarded solution - energy saving with the EFC-system
An
essential element of the efficient operation of refrigerating plants is a
regulation that is conform to the respective demands. In many cases such a
regulation of the compressor via a frequency converter accounts for a saving
potential of 25% and more.
Through a continuous variable speed control of the compressor, the frequency
converter ensures the automatic adaptation of the produced refrigeration
capacity to the actual demand. Already since 2004, Bock offers with the
EFC-system (Electronic Frequency Control) the Plug & Play solution for the
frequency-converter regulation of compressors.
At the Chillventa, Bock presents the EFC Plug & Play system that was
awarded with an innovation price for refrigeration technology by the German
Environmental Minister.
A natural alternative – hydrocarbons
Whereas the use of synthetic refrigerants is already limited in some
countries due to their contribution to the greenhouse effect, the trend goes
towards natural refrigerants that are a real alternative to synthetic
refrigerants. A well-known solution among them – hydrocarbons.
Based
on the compressors of the current Bock semi-hermetic program and the established
standard product range, Bock presents at the Chillventa a compressor version
especially for the use with hydrocarbons – the so-called HC-compressors. Those
compressors are suitable for all hydrocarbons and have, compared to compressors
for standard FKW- and HFKW-refrigerants, safety-related modifications due to the
flammability of hydrocarbons.
The refrigeration- and air-conditioning industry is responsible for future
generations. With the Bock compressor program at the Chillventa 2010, the
company presents practically oriented solutions that are already available today
to build environmentally friendly refrigeration plants.
In hall 4, stand 316, the company is looking forward to your visit.
