4th International Cool Masters

On June 19, 2010 the already established golf tournament “International Cool Masters” was hosted by Bock and Roller. The compressor manufacturer Bock Kältemaschinen GmbH from Frickenhausen and the Walter Roller GmbH & Co., manufacturer of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems from Gerlingen, invited business partner to a joint golf tournament in Kircheim unter Teck.

Better City, better Life

From May 1st until October 31st 2010, the Expo 2010 with the motto “Better City, Better Life” takes place in the metropolis Shanghai.

About 70 million national and international visitors are expected and will get the chance to look at interpretations of the motto that more than 200 different nations and international companies are presenting.

The five square kilometre large exhibition area is situated in the middle of the city Shanghai and stretches out over both sides of the Huangpu-river. To make the whole area easily accessible for the visitors, there are more than 100 free shuttles buses that operate daily between the different pavilions and ferries on both sides of the river.

To follow the motto of the Expo 2010 also when it comes to the transportation of the visitors, 4000 municipal buses were converted eco-friendly – a large-scale project that involved different bus manufacturers and suppliers.

Bock Compressors China, the Chinese subsidiary of the German company Bock Compressors had been awarded the contract for this major project and provided 3000 Expo buses with Bock compressors.

Bock vehicle compressors of the FK series are the result of decades of experience in mobile refrigeration, and particularly when it comes to bus air-conditioning, they are the standard of all renowned manufacturers.

Bock célèbre son anniversaire dans l'Empire du Milieu

Voilà cinq ans que la société Bock Compressors (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. a été créée à Hangzhou, en Chine. C'est ici que sont montés les compresseurs pour véhicules FK40 et FK50 destinés au marché chinois. La recette du succès rencontré par Bock repose sur trois piliers : une conscience aiguë de la qualité, l'innovation technique et des processus décisionnels courts.

Après avoir consacré près de vingt années à la conquête du marché chinois avec le soutien de partenaires commerciaux, l'entreprise spécialisée dans les compresseurs pour la climatisation de bus et la réfrigération des transports, qui a su rester une affaire familiale depuis plus de 75 ans, a ouvert en 2004 sa propre agence commerciale à Shanghai, avant de lancer son propre site de production l'année suivante dans la ville chinoise de Hangzhou.

Ce site d'une surface de près de 1 000 m² emploie à l'heure actuelle 25 collaborateurs de Bock dévoués au succès de leur entreprise. « Depuis la création de la société, nous sommes parvenus à accroître nos parts de marché de 8 à 25 % », annonce fièrement Klaus Öchsner, président de Bock Compressors, Hangzhou. « En Chine également, Bock reste synonyme de qualité (un critère dont l'importance ne cesse de croître), de satisfaction du client et de relations personnelles avec notre clientèle ».

Il est donc tout naturel que la clientèle ait été placée au cœur de la fête lors de la célébration de l'anniversaire de l'entreprise. 16 sociétés ont été distinguées pour leur engagement exceptionnel et le succès de leur collaboration. Plus d'une centaine d'invités venus de toute la Chine se sont joint à la fête. Des représentants de la sphère politique étaient également présents.

« Certains clients ont ensuite profité de l'occasion pour se rendre à l'exposition universelle à Shanghai, qui ouvrait ses portes peu après la fête donnée pour notre anniversaire », ajoute Klaus Öchsner. « À l'occasion de l'exposition universelle, qui s'est ouverte le 1er mai sous le slogan « Better City, Better Life », nous avons décroché un contrat consistant à équiper 3 000 bus de compresseurs pour véhicules Bock.

Bock Hangzhou a également reçu une importante commande de plus de 400 compresseurs, pour les prochains Jeux asiatiques qui se tiendront à Guangzhou ».

« L'engagement dont nous faisons preuve en Chine nous a également permis de mieux surmonter la crise économique mondiale, souligne Klaus Öchsner, en cette période difficile, nous ne nous sommes pas contentés de maintenir notre chiffre d'affaires, nous l'avons augmenté. Cette situation confirme la validité et l'importance de la décision de créer une filiale en Chine. À l'avenir, nous continuerons de placer la satisfaction constante de notre clientèle au centre de nos préoccupations, et nous continuerons d'accroître nos parts sur le marché chinois de la climatisation de bus ».

Review Gustav Lorentzen Conference and ARBS

At the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services Exhibition (ARBS) and the Gustav Lorentzen Conference in Sydney it was all about „Natural Refrigerants – real Alternatives“.

From April 12-14, 2010, refrigerating and climatisation experts met in Sydney to get information and discuss about new technologies, innovations, products and services at the most important event in the area of natural refrigerants.

The main interest of the visitors at the Bock booth was environmental solutions through the use of natural refrigerants such as CO2 or hydrocarbons as well as the Bock Plug & Play solution for variable speed control using frequency converter technology – the EFC System.

EFC-systems are on the market since 2004 and are used worldwide by now. They are compactly mounted on the compressor, wired and connected ready for use and have an energy saving potential of 25% and more.

The 9th edition of the Gustav Lorentzen Conference that ran parallel to the ARBS was hosted by the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH). At the two-day conference in Sydney about 170 experts from 26 countries were meeting to discuss latest developments and news from the field of refrigeration, air-conditioning and heating.
Since the conference took place for the first time in the southern hemisphere, many participants were from Australia, but also experts from Asia and numerous European countries were present.

As the motto already indicated, this year's Gustav Lorentzen Conference showed that “Natural Refrigerants” can be “Real Alternatives”. The focus of the presentations and papers was mainly on the topic of CO2, whereas a few papers dealt with ammonia and hydrocarbons as well.

Bock CO2 Manager Manuel Frösche who presented ”Latest developments in compressors and refrigeration systems using CO2” concluded: “The trend in countries with high ambient temperatures goes towards natural refrigerants and especially towards CO2. This increasing interest is also apparent in the high number of conference participants that came from various countries to discuss this topic.“

Bock Australia Pty Ltd., the Australian subsidiary of the German compressor manufacturer was already founded in 2001. Bock Australia is situated in Sydney and responsible for the whole Australian Market.
Apart from the well-known Bock product range, Bock Australia also offers the PlusBox, the Plug & Play condensing units especially designed for the Australian market.

Compressors for Experts – Bock at the China Refrigeration

From April 7-9, 2010, the China Refrigeration took place in Peking's „New China International Exhibition Center“ and proved to be one of the main trade fairs for airconditioning and refrigeration next to the Chillventa and the Mostra Convegno. The German compressor manufacturer Bock presented compressor solutions for various applications together with its Chinese subsidiary Bock Compressors at the trade fair.

The list of more than 1000 exhibitors and the many visitors reads like a who-is-who of global refrigeration technology. Decision makers and experts from all continents visited the trade fair and Bock Key-Account Manager Thorsten Schäfer could make a positive conclusion about the overall success of the China Refrigeration: “The China Refrigeration exceeded our expectations by far. Concerning the quality as well as the quantity of the conversations at the China Refrigeration, we are very satisfied with the results”.

Bock and other German Companies exhibited at this year's China Refrigeration in the German pavilion. A possibility that is paying off in more than one way for the participating companies. Apart from financial synergy effects, companies also profit from attractive booths of the other exhibitors in the pavilion.

Especially the reason that Bock offers solutions for niche markets with its wide range of semihermetic and open-type piston-compressors were met with interest at the China Refrigeration. Numerous international visitors of the chemical- as well as petrochemical industry were looking for information on Bock ATEX-compressors that are certified by the German TÜV-SÜD and especially designed for explosive atmospheres.

Since China has developed in the last few years into one of the leading ship-building nations, compressor solutions for maritime applications were met with great interest as well. Maritime applications are a field of business in which Bock could experience significant growth in the last few years, especially in China.

Additionally Bock presented its program of classical semi-hermetic compressors as well as mobile compressors for bus air-conditioning and transport refrigeration. A topic that is usually a centre of heated discussions but has not reached China yet is natural refrigerants.

Bock is already looking forward to the 22nd edition of the China Refrigeration that will take place from April 7-9, 2011 in the “New International Expo Centre” in Shanghai.
